And Moses went and spoke these words to all Israel. Then he said :
"I am a hundred and twenty years old this day. I can no longer go out and come in. Also the Lord
has said to me, 'You Shall not go over the Jordan.' Joshua, he shall go over before you, as the Lord
has said."
And Moses called Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel:
"Be strong and of good courage. For you must go with this people into the land which the lord has promised their fathers. And you shall cause them to inherit it. "
Then God said to Moses:
"Behold, you shall sleep with your fathers, and this people will rise up and will forsake me and breake the agreement which I have made with them. Then I will hide my face from them, when they have turned to other gods. Many evils and troubles shall plague them."
Then God said to Moses:
